Teasers/flies

Last couple weeks I have been messing around with tying. My experience is limited to some trailer hooks and my bucktail jigs. I am still using sally hanson nail polish but plan on using epoxy soon. The hooks are all different styles till I get the hang of it. Mostly these will be used as teasers above jigs and the darker black/blue and pink ones are for cod. Some will be used on fly rods. The rainbow looking ones stared as a joke but will look good on wonder bread plugs and for weakfish teasers. Please feel free to critique.

Very nice looking flies -exciting color combos! These will kill the salty species!! But don't be in a hurry to use that messy epoxy -no less an authority than Bob Clouser once told me,as I explained my use of nail polish, "Heck, nail polish is better head cement than head cement!"

WTG for messing around. Excellent tyes! You can also use a 30 minute epoxy or a UV gel for a tough clearcoat. Think those cod are going to chew those beauties up...

Welcome - and nice work with the mylar bodies. Love the ones with the stripes down the side. The wonder bread color is pretty popular up here for walleye trollers using Reef Runner cranks.

Sweet looking ties! I really dig the blue/yellows in your last picture. I have a similar plan for using teasers and flies in freshwater for wipers/white bass this season. I use nail polish and UV-cure resin for most of my heads www.loonoutdoors.com/uv-clear-fly-finish.html I find the UV resin a lot more user friendly than epoxy, It may seem a little pricey, but I highly recommend it.

Shrink wrap shrinks tight around whatever you are working on...... the UV cure resin is thick so you can build up the fat head.

Creeky - this might sound nuts but wouldn't clear heat shrink tubing be able to do the same thing???
