I made it out two days this week fishing for crappie.Sunday was cool, rainy and winds out of the NE at 15-20 mph. The wind pushed the shad close to the bank. I had a blast catching over 100 crappie. Most were under 9 inches but I kept 20 from 10-12 inches. I went out this morning, totally different conditions. It was sunny, warmer with no wind. Fishing was tougher, caught half as many fish and put in a couple extra hours to do that. I kept 11 with the biggest one measuring 13 1/2". The picture's show the biggest along with the baits that caught the most. Sunday flash ducks and the larger Slab Bandits in these colors caught the most. Today, the smaller Bandits were hot early and the flash ducks with the pink palmer chenille collar was the hot bait. The palmer chenille is my favorite new product for 2010.I've been tying with it a lot in the last couple weeks, really nice stuff. If you look close at the little Slab Bandit you might see teeth marks, crappies liked this color today.
