I tied up a dozen today on a 1/32 #6 sickle. Simple tie using a combination of thread, uni- floss and white satin. On some I used a fl.yellow highlighter and colored up a small patch of satin and used the fibers on top. It colored up nice and I'll check to see if the color holds up in water. Hope it does hold some color because I just ordered ten more fl.highlighter colors off ebay. I figured it might save me a trip to the fabric store buying more satin colors.View attachment 5View attachment 6View attachment 7View attachment 8View attachment 9

Rad,it's the white satin cloth that is used in jj's thread with his friend Red. You cut it into smaller squares and pull the fibers out. Takes me longer to pull enough satin fibers out than it does tying the jig. Finished it resembles a small minnow to me and has great fluorescent qualities. I tied one up several days ago and lost it on the first cast to a bass that wrapped me up under the dock I was fishing and broke off. It got my attention so I tied up a dozen to try this weekend. Last picture was taken under a blacklight and you can see how it glows.

Jungle, Extremely nice work with those ! Great thought & artistry with the markers, too, plus those heads of yours are perfect for the satin/minnow jig! Can't help but notice, at first glance, how much that material looks like your famous duck jigs, only with more brightness and freer flowing action!

Fourth picture up top really stands out and reminds me of fish scales. Here are some 1/64 chubs on A #8 sickle that I made this morning. With the water getting colder it seems fish want smaller snack size baits instead of a bigger meal so I started downsizing. View attachment 1View attachment 2

JJ1, exactly what I had in mind - skinny minners utilizing a satin main body. Thanks for posting, it takes me awhile to free up tying time and now I know what they look like - nice!

Your tie would be great for night fishing where small baitfish are attracted to light. I'm now looking forward to nights in white satin.
