After cooking crappie and hushpuppies for about 40 folks today, I came home and tied a few. It was my Mother In Law's 85th birthday party. I fried 160 filets and made 6 batches of puppies. There wasn't much left either. Anyway, I can see another field test coming for tomorrow. Which one will do the best? We'll see tomorrow.:fishing:

Thanks, I found those "wobble eyes" at Hobby Lobby. They're a pain but I was just trying new stuff.
Red did the best last time. I think the green ones will do good. That's actually Candy Yellow but it turns out a good shade of green.

My, what big eyes you have! LOL they all look great. I would say the red jig. For some reason reds have been doing good on my lake and they worked well for you also. I like the top left jig a lot too. Good work Scott.

That top left one is copperhead PP, red squirrel tail, and natural cross cut wabbit. I think it should do good also.

I'm gonna fish with 4 poles with a different color on each one. Good night and I'll be back "live" tomorrow morning.

Hey Fatman I use zap a gap and they stay on OK, but I do paint over mine and do two coats of Sally as well.
But they are definately not as robust as other style eyes. They are strongest if glued into a rimmed eye socket like some ultra minnow heads have.

Do you have any problems with the eyes breaking off easily??

These goofy looking eyes don't have any glue on them so I put a little dot of super glue on the head and stuck them on there with tweezers. Then I top coated with Sallys. Still you'll loose one every now and then. I hate messing with super glue. It will cloud the eye if you get it on the top.

I have looked at those eyes in HL for two years now and walk away from them each time. I would think that the sound they would make would draw some fish to them.

Hey Stump, same, same; I've convinced myself they give a super subtle little rattle. Who knows!
