Nice Bruce. I made some pearl bottom, blue tops last year. For some reason, they did not sell that well. One guy bought some off me, but looking at the one shop Saturday, there are still some left. I love 'em. Maybe I'll trade some other colors to get 'em back and use myself lol.

Lot's of request for.........ORANGE!

You do go through a lot of tails on those big suckers, don't ya lol.

Good thing you buy lots of tails and dye them yourself - that's got to save a bit!!

Saves some money, and I get bigger/better tails than I could at a store. I figure a tail cost me $1.40 after dyed. Would only be around $.85 if I deboned them myself.

Salty, I am trying to get the name of a guy in Pa. that sells dyed tails to dealers. One of the shops I deal with buys some from him to sell. Hope to find out more next trip down in 2 weeks.

Wheres the completed set?
They look nice w/ that blue contrast.
You using a fluid bed?

Blt,
What dye are you using?

Adam

I am using Pylam dyes, but may be changing because of cost. Jaquarred is another good dye to use. My last batch of dye was $105/lb. Price jumped $20 in 18 months. Still, cost per tail isn't bad. They will custom blend to get the color you are happy with, number it, and you will be the only one that can order that one.
