Wabbit Wigglers

Ive been testing these in a swimming pool for over a week now. These have a scrounger type lip on them that makes the rabbit come alive. They wiggle like a weenie dog in heat! The chart/purple is 3/16 and the orange is 1/8. I started tying the holo silver flash towards the front of the body so it picks up more of the wobble. Havent tried these on fish yet, but i am confident they will do well.

The last pic doesnt have a lip. It has a 2/0 sickle. Since its not a long shank I couldnt put the lip on them without cutting a V - shaped slot in the lip to allow clearance of the hook point for when a fish strikes. Will be testing that idea because I love those sickles.

Can not imagine what those tails do with that lip on them... gotta have more swim than a jointed crank bait! Favorite is the last one though, can't beat that color combo, but it only squeaked by the orange. Excellent jigs, better up-size the mono.

Great looking baits. Have you tried putting the lips on the bottom like regular crankbaits? Seems the way shown would make the bait more weedless,but might interfere with the hookset.Definitely need to show them to some bass and see how they do. They might hit it so hard that they hook themselves.

Those are absolutely cool Ron Don. I'd like to try tying with rabbit sometime. Maybe next winter.

What type of material did you craft your lip from? Is it Lexan?

That's a great idea Ronny. They ought to be killer! Love those heads too, hope the ones you're sending me are like those. Hope I can learn to get a finish on them like you do. Very inovative.

JJ1 I actually havent even tried making them like cranks. I'll have to file the backside of a few of these heads to get the lip at the right angle to make them dip. Then could put on a stinger hook and good lord it would wiggle!

Pup the lips arent lexan. They are out of a much softer plastic. It needs to be very flexible so it will bend out of the way when a fish strikes. The lip needs to be short enough to miss the hook point when it bends backwards. The angle of the lip will vary how the bait wobbles. I angled one more forward and tied a swivel on it and it spun like one of the old helicopter lures. It had such a tight spin that I couldnt tell it was actually rotating 360*.
