The first jigs I tied for fresh water were just like those 1/32 #6s - brown painted head and plain brown marabou. Caught my first ever stream trout on one then a few other small bows, brooks, browns. The jigs indeed seemed to have a sideways darting action when twitched.

Haven't had a chance to use them - hard to put down what is working.

Fishing these with a bobber would probably be effective also.

those are some nice jigs..like to have some black jigs...Would it offend you if i tried to copy them? Seems like some people get mad and try to sue you when you do that....but those are nice looking jigs,

SB - copy away - won't hurt my feelings...

Used a Do-it mold for the jigs

I hackle the tail - same as you would do a neck - then push it back - and tie it down. I use saltwater necks to get the big hackle. Also made a little "tool" to help push the hackle back.

Those are some really good looking jigs. When I was a beginning tyer I had that mold and the shad dart mold and could not tie on them very well. Sold many molds that I wish I still had. At that time I had no idea what hackle was!! Those are great !
