With much help from Richmc I tried making a tail for one of my standup jigs. Also made a adapter for my dubbing spinner to help furl the yarn. This is the first one that I got to turn out half way decent. Thanks again Rich.

great start.  brush it out with some velcro.   it will also look much better after it get wet and dries out. my furling tool  is close to your, mine has a dowell rod as a handle .    rich mc

Ahh yes the Velcro brush, haven't tied for a while and forgot about that! Tried it and it really fluffs it up. I set it in some water and that tail waves around nicely.

For furling, hackle pliers are another useful tool in my opinion.  They are small and easy to rotate between my fingertips.  Their grip is tight too, as they don't let go of my eyelash yarn(s) while twisting.

That is a nice looking jig. :cool:
