Tied up a jig 2 nights ago and headed out after dark last night so tied it on.  Managed to catch the big fish of the night with it.... a 22: walleye.    Is a 1/8 lead free head with a white and a yellow bunny strip long out the back end and some flash sandwiched between.  Put a big fluff of wool roving up near the head and then finished over that with yellow and white craft fur.  The roving helps absorb water and really make it sink slowly.  Not the most aerodynamic thing to cast, but the walleye are still coming up shallow after dark.  (sorry about the blurry jig pic, i snapped it quick before i left just in case i lost it in the rocks)

Caught 3 walleye for the night and dropped what looked like a good one a ways out from shore.  Also landed several nice size bass.  Bites were split between the jig and a big helsinki shad husky jerk.  Fun evening and a few fillets for the freezer!

Yellow over white is probably my favorite color combination for sauger.  Not surprised it works for walleye as well.  Nice-looking jig and catch. :jig: :icon14:

I agree yellow over white is a good combo, I also like a watermelon over light grey, byt my most productive this year has been a dull orange over white with a little bit of silver flash
