Jigged flies

Been messing with this pattern off and on after being shown how productive they can be through the ice.  Have a variety of hook sizes used between #10 and #6 and also a range of different brass cyclops beads & tungsten beads sizes.  I think these will do really good on the crappie during spring since they have such a slow fall.  Can't wait to get out and give them some thorough testing.  They are essentially a bead head nymph pattern but i will mainly be using the smallest ones under a pegged float.

I really like the green chartruese one in top photo,yet all look like fish magnets...nice work

Very nice! All of the trout pattern nymphs can be tied on jigheads for crappies and sunfish.

Those look good AF.

Last year, I was sucessfully targeting Sunnies, LMB's, and even a huge Black Crappie with a tiny 1/80th jig that LedHed tied up, tipped with a waxworm, under a float. Shallow, black-bottom protected cove on the north end of a lake with a good southern exposure. I wasn't sure if there were any fish in that cove when I paddled in, until I got right up to the shoreline and started spooking them off. After that, I found fish everywhere, holding close to dead weeds left from the previous season.

Nice thing about old school hooks for crappie is the larger barbs. But the Mustad classic points are the worst.

What is the cost of the double beads?

Looking good! I like your color combos, they should stir up some hungry panfish even in the summertime for sure.

Salty - there is a mix of both chenille & dubbing in those. The flashy ones have chenille & the more drab ones are dubbed.

Hawn - the doubles are just separate beads added on. The brass beads are not all that expensive but the tungsten gets pricey.
