I like the underspins better, haven't tied a tail gunner in months. Mostly use the 1/8 and 1/4 oz. I wish they made a 1/16 size with this mold.

Thanks everyone, it is a custom mold made by Robert of Crazy Angler Tackle when he was still making molds. I have about 7 or 8 of his molds. Going to check out the Herring 1/16 mold and probably order it today.

Excellent ties all around. That very last set of orange/green/gold ties i think would be my first choice. They might match up color wise with the other bluegill and bass hiding up in the rip-rap around me.

I did order the other herring underspin that actually has a few different sizes like 1/16, 3/32 and 3/16 that I didn't have. Also has a different insert so ordered some of those as well. Should be here today and will pour some as soon as it arrives.

AF, that last one is my version of a coppernose bluegill even though they don't live in Missouri. I hooked something big a few weeks ago on the river with that color and the 2/0 Owner hook broke at the bend. First time that ever happened with an Owner. Never saw the fish but it made me sick to my stomach.

Oh oh, unlike other hook mfgs who prefer a bit soft to avoid brittle, Owner boldly maximizes their hard temper, and I've read high stress steelhead anglers occasionally complain about snappers. Like bendouts, hook breakage failure likely occurs when you LEAST want it to happen on possibly the hookup of a lifetime. What do you think it was?

The spot I was fishing I caught six 20-23 inch walleye last year. If it was a walleye it was a giant but have caught big gar and drum from the same spot along with other species. I was using 6lb test so you would think the line would break before the hook.
