A few weeks ago I was tying up some Fuzzy Auto jigs (based on LedHed's Auto pattern) when I had an idea. Change up the colors, and go with electric chicken colors.
This is the result:
I've taken to calling it the "Rubber Chicken".
Last night, I took my kayak out to harrass the 'gills with this jig, tipped with a waxworm, until it got dark, then switch over to minnows under a float for Crappie. Well, I did catch a few sunfish with this pattern.

But, I probably would have caught more, if I had stayed with the Fuzzy Auto that I've done up in Olive. The fish are still keying on nymphs, and now dun mayflies. The Hex Hatch is on! I caught my first hatch last night, and I didn't even have a fly rod in my kayak when it happened.
I think I know where I'll be the next night before a day off
