About a year or so ago, i beat my head on a rock for a month (or more :beat-up: ) trying to create a crank jig for trolling in my kayak with the lip coming out the bottom side of the head. I managed to get one design that had a slow, pronounced side to side wobble - picture a 'walk the dog' jig - and then Doc posted the scrounger on here .
I gave in at that point. haha! I could never figure how to do a top lip like the scrounger... i may have to copy what you are doing... but maybe with some .030 alum. sheet stock.
Also, from what i learned on another project
you may want to try and stick with lighter heads i you are trying to create more wiggle. The size is fine but a
lighter weight head (poured in tin possibly) might let the whole package move more. I had so-so results with lead heads and even less movement if i tied too big of a tail - keep the dressing simple like you have it!
BTW - I just saw a new crankin' jig (sorta) design that was articulated in the lastest In-Fish magazine... It had the lip on the BOTTOM!?!? It got me dreaming again. :jig: ahhhahahah Can't think of the name at the moment and the mag is at work.
