Would this be a school..... or a herd?  Maybe a drey?  Jig should be a nice compact smallmouth snack.  I used the squirrel tail 'wing' as double duty to give a little profile shape and also as a functioning guard to help keep the scrubber craws from fouling around the hook.  First attempt using the scrubber nubs.  Jigged it around in a bucket of water and it looks really good.

I have a scrubber in the light tan and a scrubber in purple.  They were in the sale bin last year but can't remember for sure what price i paid.  After doing a quick google search for - dollar general car scrubber - i see they may be available in lots of colors including many that are bright 'fishing' colors.

Goes to show you with a little creativeness you can make tying materials outta some random items. You tower over the box.

That right there is downright ingenious!  Those microfibers hold allot of water so does your lure go from 1/8th to 1/4 oz  when it get's wet? :D   I've seen those in yellow, blue, pinkish purple and the tan/brown you have there. That's just the thing I've been looking for to imitate a nightcrawler.
Got to thinking a bit last night and I wonder if those fibers are going to pick up debris and such from the bottom of the lake? If it's the material I'm thinking about (microfiber) that stuff is sort of sticky like a cocklebur and may grab onto weeds and such. Not throwing cold water on your great idea, just a thought.

Very creative AF.  Good eye for material.

The purple color will work well for largemouth bass ties.  I'm thinking that the 'nubs' might be fashioned into jig bodies as well.  Could a hook be easily threaded into one of them?

If you can't put hook through it it would still look kick butt with a wire Ribbing to hold it down. If you use twisted yarn, if you're careful when you separate, you can retwist around shank.

Thanks all!

duffy - They do hold quite a bit of water, should thump around pretty good in the water. May have to tie one on a small 1/32 or 1/24 head just to see if there is any casting advantage with the weight. These tan ones would sure make a good mimic of a night crawler. There looks like there could be a ton of colors out there. As far as them picking up weeds or debris..... can't say for sure yet but don't think they would. The material looks and feels very similar to a dense chenille. They sweep up dust pretty good, but doesn't stick to it like a Swiffer. We will see.

Pup - The nubs measure about 1" of usable length once they are cut (off the host) and are very similar to a chenille material... but much more dense than Premier Yarns chenille or the Lion Thick & Quick chenille. Picture a Sham Wow in chenille form i guess? They do have a few core threads that the fibers are woven through, so no threading on a hook. I actually tried after you mentioned it and no way it will work. However, it is possible you could 'rib' them to a shank as Fin and Fur mentioned.

Nice and just cutting off and tying in is way easier than the twisted chenille tails like the steel headers tie in aero style.  My wife has one of those in chartreuse green and caught me eye balling it!! Was told if any were missing I'd be missing something!!LOL
