These are 1/32 oz and 1/16 oz x #6 sickles jigs. I took a Mustad 3366A size 8 hook slightly opened the eye and bent and cut it off. I then inserted it into the mold and cast the jigs. I can then paint and tie the jigs without and spinners  and install them at the end. Worked pretty well. Thought I would share.

Good thinking :icon14: I´ve started to like the herring spinner method better than the pony for the same reason, its much easier to paint. The pony and horse heads are more snag resistant though.

There are open eye seawash hooks from matzuo and vmc and the herring mold inserts might work too.

Very innovative and cost effective. I don't have that mold, did you have to cut it to fit the hook eye?

No mold cutting necessary. Bend and cut the hook eye section and it will fit. Careful not to make either section too long. After a couple you will get an idea of their size.
