I'm working on a few types of craw baits in preparation for my trip to Havasu. These are 1/16 craw tail jigs on a #4 sickle and 1/8 footballs on a #2 37188 mustad wide gap jig hook using mink, kiptail, fox squirrel, silicone rubber and neck hackle for the tail, claws and antennae, twisted chenilles and hackle on some for the bodies. Length on these are 2-2.5 inches. I hope the Havasu Redear and smallmouth like them.View attachment 9View attachment 1

Hey those look brilliant. Should do well over here too since the rivers/lakes around here are infested with the American signal crayfish!

Nice looking Jim !
You got any Golden Pheasant Feathers ?
They work well for Crawfish patterns , giving them a good natural color look in the water .

Which feathers, BucktailJiger? I've got a Golden Pheasant skin, only used a few feathers off it.

Checked the weather and it's cooler in California then it is here. Going to be hotter at Lake Havasu with temps in the 90's for the high next week. Really looking forward to this trip.

Already have some tied with the pheasant feathers used for claws. 1/16th oz crawtails , just didn't put pictures of those up. Tied them a few months ago and found them while looking for something else. They are packed and ready to go!!
