Friend of mine was hoping to get up to Erie over the weekend and get on a headboat to go out to the reefs and jig up some spawning walleye. Asked me for a few jigs so threw some together quick. Now it sounds like his trip might get put off till next week, but he should have some one-of-a-kind jigs.

3/8oz and 1/4oz heads. The top left ones i tried to copy a popular color of crankbait and ViBee called the 'Clown' or 'Silver Clown" with the red nose and all. :p Mostly bucktail but the two on the bottom of the group pic are craftfur. Painted a few other heads up too.....

With added saddle hackles as tails, you'd have tied much nicer versions of the old Mann's Preacher Jig. It's head is shaped and sized similarly. I've got bass on my mind, a-gain... :D :)

That stated, those are no-less-than excellent.

Ever look at the web page for Insane Tackle? Check out their Erie/walleye jigs. Just some thoughts for additional colors only. I like your jigs better. ;) :icon14:

Thanks for all the replies and comments. :)

Fatman - The purple and the orange are pre-mixed colors. The rest is tapped on at a lower temp and the colors flow and blend together once you re-heat it. Takes some testing to get it to work how you want but can make some really cool results. The jig on the left in the last picture was done that way... actually 2 colors (pearl/silver) on the belly and 2 colors (grassgreen/chart) on the back. Then a little glitter and flake tapped on.

Salty - The orange has a pearl belly and a smoke top.... the color really pops!

Ron Don - It took me a while to come around to the powder paint but i don't see me going back except for some clear top coats and added glitter here and there.

Tht';s some excellent powder painting. love the colour schemes. They'd get bit in the salt too.
